The Inaugural meeting of the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy consists of the original 12 heads of government and the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the Ocean.
This marked the first time serving heads of government have joined forces on a global pact to protect the world’s ocean.
To help address the current issues and to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 14, the High-level Panel on the Sustainable Ocean Economy met to shape a new narrative on what a “Sustainable Ocean Economy” is and how to achieve it.
This meeting included an overview of the Panel and it’s architecture and the final report as well as views from the High Level Panel Members.
