Africa’s Blue Economy – African Union Summit 2020

President Faure of Seychelles together with President Kenyatta of Kenya (Ocean Panel member) and President Gnassingbe of Togo convene a high-level side event on Africa’s Blue Economy at the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The event released the Blue Paper ‘Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing and Associated Drivers’ and featured interventions from Prime Minister Solberg of Norway (Ocean Panel member) who highlighted IUU fishing as a serious threat to fish stocks, the economy, marine ecosystems, nutrition and coastal societies. Tony Long (Blue Paper author) also attended.
