Ocean Panel members’ combined exclusive economic zones (EEZs) span nearly 60 million km² of ocean. Sustainably managing these waters will help protect and restore ocean ecosystems while supporting the people, livelihoods and economies that depend on them.

89% of members have at least one ocean-based climate measure or target in their national climate plans.

84% of members have legislative measures or policies strengthening their plan's legal and institutional backing.

53% of members are implementing or updating a Sustainable Ocean Plan  – all 19 now have a plan underway.
