The SOP articulates a clear national vision that\u00a0Ghana\u2019s\u00a0dedication to safeguarding marine ecosystems while enabling the sustainable use of ocean resources for the benefit of present and future generations.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ghana is one of the 14\u00a0founding\u00a0members of the Ocean Panel, and its SOP is closely aligned with the Transformations Agenda, underscoring the country\u2019s commitment to contributing to global efforts aimed at achieving 100% sustainable ocean management. By publishing\u00a0an\u00a0SOP, Ghana\u00a0demonstrates\u00a0leadership within the international community and offers an example for other coastal and island states\u00a0seeking\u00a0to balance environmental protection with economic opportunity.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8220;The ocean has always been central to Ghana&#8217;s story,\u201d\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">said H.E John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana.<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> \u201cThe\u00a0Plan signals our unwavering dedication to fulfilling our global commitments, including 100% management of ocean areas under our national\u00a0jurisdiction. To Ghanaians, it\u00a0represents\u00a0a critical\u00a0component\u00a0of our strategy to reset the economy and place Ghana on a path to sustainable growth and\u00a0equitable\u00a0development.
