En 2020, los miembros del Ocean Panel anunciaron su ambici\u00f3n compartida de gestionar de manera sostenible 100% de \u00e1reas oce\u00e1nicas bajo su jurisdicci\u00f3n nacional para 2025, guiados por Planes Oce\u00e1nicos Sostenibles. Adem\u00e1s, instaron a todos los estados ribere\u00f1os y oce\u00e1nicos a sumarse a este compromiso, para que para 2030 todas las \u00e1reas oce\u00e1nicas bajo jurisdicci\u00f3n nacional sean gestionadas de forma sostenible.<\/p>\n

Los pa\u00edses que se unan al esfuerzo del Ocean Panel despu\u00e9s de 2020 pueden comprometerse con el mismo objetivo dentro de los cinco a\u00f1os posteriores a la incorporaci\u00f3n, a trav\u00e9s de la gu\u00eda de Sustainable Ocean Plans.<\/p>\n

Para hacer realidad este objetivo de 100%, Ocean Panel encarg\u00f3 esta nueva gu\u00eda '100% Gesti\u00f3n sostenible de los oc\u00e9anos: Introducci\u00f3n a los planes oce\u00e1nicos sostenibles',<\/em>\u00a0lanzado el 7 de diciembre de 2021.<\/p>\n

Acerca de la Gu\u00eda de Planes Oce\u00e1nicos Sostenibles<\/strong><\/p>\n

Un Plan Oce\u00e1nico Sostenible tiene como objetivo guiar a los responsables de la toma de decisiones del sector p\u00fablico y privado sobre c\u00f3mo administrar de manera sostenible el \u00e1rea oce\u00e1nica de una naci\u00f3n bajo jurisdicci\u00f3n nacional para promover el desarrollo econ\u00f3mico y social a largo plazo, mediante la protecci\u00f3n de los ecosistemas marinos naturales que sustentan ese desarrollo. Sienta las bases para implementar el Ocean Panel\u00a0Transformaciones <\/em>agenda, proporcionando un 'paraguas' unificador para la gobernanza nacional relacionada con los oc\u00e9anos.<\/p>\n

Esta nueva gu\u00eda identifica las caracter\u00edsticas y los atributos de un Plan Oce\u00e1nico Sostenible y sugiere los pasos iniciales que los estados costeros y oce\u00e1nicos pueden tomar para iniciar o acelerar la planificaci\u00f3n oce\u00e1nica sostenible.<\/p>\n

La gu\u00eda fue preparada por un grupo de destacados expertos de todo el mundo bajo la coordinaci\u00f3n de la Secretar\u00eda del Ocean Panel y se someti\u00f3 a un riguroso proceso de revisi\u00f3n por pares. Se mejor\u00f3 un borrador de esta gu\u00eda con los aportes de los representantes de los pa\u00edses y los equipos t\u00e9cnicos del Ocean Panel durante un taller sobre el Plan Oce\u00e1nico Sostenible realizado en abril de 2021, as\u00ed como las consultas posteriores en los pa\u00edses.<\/p>\n

Para apoyar a los pa\u00edses con Planes Oce\u00e1nicos Sostenibles, el Acci\u00f3n oce\u00e1nica 2030<\/a> Se convoc\u00f3 una coalici\u00f3n para proporcionar la asistencia t\u00e9cnica y financiera que los pa\u00edses puedan necesitar para desarrollar e implementar sus planes.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Esta gu\u00eda identifica nueve atributos de un Plan Oce\u00e1nico Sostenible, relevantes en todos los contextos, que sentar\u00e1n las bases para lograr el m\u00e1ximo \u00e9xito e impacto.<\/p>\n

Un Plan Oce\u00e1nico Sostenible es:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Desarrollado en un inclusivo <\/strong>manera tal que todos los intereses relevantes sean escuchados y abordados desde el principio<\/li>\n
  2. integrador,<\/strong> coordinaci\u00f3n entre agencias gubernamentales, sectores oce\u00e1nicos y procesos<\/li>\n
  3. Iterativo,<\/strong> en que trabaja para hoy mientras se anticipa a los cambios de ma\u00f1ana<\/li>\n
  4. basado en el lugar<\/strong>, que abarca todas las \u00e1reas marinas y costeras dentro de las aguas nacionales<\/li>\n
  5. Basado en ecosistemas<\/strong>, reconociendo las interacciones dentro de los ecosistemas y con las personas<\/li>\n
