Para allanar el camino hacia una econom\u00eda oce\u00e1nica sostenible, es importante aprender de transiciones globales comparables en el pasado. Este documento examina los \u00e9xitos y fracasos del pasado y sus factores contribuyentes clave, identificando lecciones aprendidas relevantes para ser aplicadas al contexto oce\u00e1nico. El documento considera la din\u00e1mica actual de transici\u00f3n que ya est\u00e1 en marcha, v\u00edas de transici\u00f3n futuras alternativas y pol\u00edticas u otras respuestas que pueden ayudar a fomentar una transici\u00f3n hacia un oc\u00e9ano m\u00e1s sostenible.<\/p>\n

'The Ocean Transition: What to Learn from System Transitions' se lanz\u00f3 el 12 de junio de 2020 como parte de un seminario web m\u00e1s amplio,\u00a0Perspectivas del Ocean Panel: Acelerar la transici\u00f3n hacia una econom\u00eda oce\u00e1nica sostenible'<\/a>, que presenta reflexiones de miembros y expertos del Ocean Panel sobre di\u00e1logos y actividades mundiales recientes sobre los oc\u00e9anos y el camino a seguir para construir una econom\u00eda oce\u00e1nica sostenible.<\/p>\n

En este evento participaron Peter Thomson, el Enviado Especial del Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas para el Oc\u00e9ano, quien pronunci\u00f3 un discurso de apertura, as\u00ed como el Enviado Especial de Noruega para el Oc\u00e9ano y el Panel del Oc\u00e9ano, Sherpa Vidar Helgesen; la Copresidenta del Grupo de Expertos del Panel de Oc\u00e9anos, Jane Lubchenco; y la autora de Blue Paper, Mary Ruckelshaus, directora del Proyecto de Capital Natural y profesora consultora de la Universidad de Stanford. El evento fue moderado por Andrew Steer, presidente y director ejecutivo de WRI.<\/p>\n
